A Family Legacy Built on Veterinary Expertise.

Frankham Fell was founded in 1981 by Stuart and Judy Davies, who turned their Northumberland farm into a haven for animals. With Stuart’s background as a veterinarian, the kennels were designed with safety, practicality, and animal wellbeing at their core. What began as a small family project has grown into a trusted, five-star boarding service for dogs, cats, and small pets, still run with the same family ethos and dedication more than 40 years later.

Leading with Experience & Care

At the heart of Frankham Fell today is Laura Davies, granddaughter of Stuart and Judy. Having grown up in the kennels, Laura has been hands-on since childhood and officially took over management in recent years. With a Level 3 Animal Care qualification and years of practical experience, Laura has a special gift for working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. She’s particularly known for handling larger or more challenging breeds with calm confidence, a skill that’s earned the trust of both local families and professional services.

Alongside Laura is a dedicated, experienced team who share the same passion for animals. From feeding routines to administering medication, from cuddles for nervous cats to structured walks for energetic dogs, our staff treat every pet as if they were their own. Today, Laura works alongside her brother Ross, who joined in 2022, as they continue to grow Frankham Fell. Their vision is to carry forward their grandparents’ legacy while expanding facilities to support more animals in need, including new kennels and creating exciting, sustainable projects for the future.
